Danny Schmittgens

Attorney

Danny was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. As a kid, it was fairly obvious that Danny was destined to be a trial attorney. Danny never tolerated bullies and always stood up for his friends and loved ones.

Danny graduated from the prestigious St. Louis University High School in 2011 and like his siblings, enrolled in the University of Missouri – Columbia. In 2015, Danny graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science together with minors in both Psychology and Sociology.

After graduation, Danny returned to St. Louis and was subsequently hired as a case manager at a large law-fi rm. It did not take long for Danny to realize that he was in the right profession but the wrong role. In 2017, he made a decision and enrolled in St. Louis University – School of Law, the only school to which he applied. The conventional wisdom is to apply to multiple law schools, but Danny has never been conventional. Danny loves St. Louis and did not want to leave.

Fortunately, Danny was accepted to SLU Law and was awarded academic scholarships. Danny completed his studies in the traditional three years and graduated in 2020. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Danny passed the bar exam and was licensed to practice in early 2021.

After earning his license, Danny joined the medical malpractice defense fi rm he had clerked at while in Law School. While working a full case load defending doctors and medical facilities accused of malpractice, Danny took every opportunity to help his family and friends with any legal problems they brought him, including – traffi c tickets and contract interpretations.

Danny joined his second-cousin Rob as the second attorney at Schmittgens Injury Law Firm. After more than 5 years working on the “other side of the aisle,” Danny came to the realization that he would rather help regular people than help insurance companies save a little money for their shareholders.

As a person who has always stood up for the little guy, Danny knew he was much better suited representing those who have been injured or killed through no fault of their own. Sharing a name and a familial relationship with founding partner Rob made the decision that much easier.

At the Schmittgens Injury Law Firm, Danny works on all types of personal injury cases from parking lot car crashes to complex medical malpractice claims. Danny is a skilled trial attorney and has appeared in nearly all of the Courthouses in eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.

Danny is well respected by attorneys on both sides of the aisle and the judges he appears before. Danny is known for his diligent work ethic, his professionalism, and the results he achieves for his clients. If you or someone you know has been injured or killed

Outside of the office, Danny can be found enjoying the camping grounds in the midwest, cheering for Mizzou and the Chiefs, and spending time with his lovely wife Katie. Danny and Katie have two dogs, Crispy and Winnie and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their daughter in late July.
